Nestled in the foothills of the historic Cucamonga Valley, just 45 miles east of Los Angeles, Rancho de Philo Winery continues a proud California winemaking legacy that began in 1832. Founded in 1974 by Philo Biane, former President and CEO of Brookside Vineyard Co., Rancho de Philo has long been celebrated for its dedication and production of award-winning sherry.
Rancho de Philo’s Triple Cream Sherry remains the heart of our story. Crafted from Mission grapes and aged in oak barrels using the traditional Spanish solera method, this exceptional dessert wine is a blend of vintages aged 12 to 63 years. Its deep amber hue and notes of golden raisin, butterscotch, and roasted nuts reflect both time and tradition in every sip.
Throughout the years, Rancho de Philo’s Triple Cream Sherry has excelled in the competition circuit earning Platinum, Double Gold, Gold, and even Best of Class/Best of Show honors at competitions including the Los Angeles International, Pacific Rim, Orange County, San Diego International. The winery has been named California State Fair Micro Winery of the Year five times as well as receiving the prestigious California Golden Bear Award for Best Dessert Wine of Show Commercial Division in 2022.
Today, Philo’s daughter Janine Biane Tibbetts, her husband Alan, and the next generation of the family carry his legacy forward. Together, they are expanding Rancho de Philo’s celebrated offerings while preserving the craftsmanship and passion that have defined the winery for decades.
In addition to our award-winning sherry, we are proud to introduce two private-label award-winning table wines: a bold Petite Sirah and a bright, aromatic Viognier, each crafted in limited quantities and available exclusively from our winery.
Rancho de Philo wines are offered directly to our customers during our limited annual release. Quantities are extremely limited and often sell out within the first week.
To preserve the complex flavors of the sherry, please store upright at room temperature and do not refrigerate.

As part of our continued evolution, we’ve expanded beyond our signature sherry to introduce new varietals, including Viognier and Petite Sirah, sourced from celebrated vineyards in Lodi, California. These wines represent both a nod to our roots and an exciting step into the future.
